CAD or iModel viewer

This one is particularly important.

On the web client we have no ad-hoc viewer to view CAD file in the same vay we can see PDF or Office document.

We have upper manage and more none technical people that meet in ad-hoc review session ( Teams chat) to discuss about a vendor spec sheet they have receive or the inter connection of elements and they are not able to open and quickly view CAD document.

Something as simple as taking a measure, purchasing need to order a crate and confirm the latest dimensions.

For 3D model we have no direct link between the CAD document and the iModel. Which make it difficult to find the correct model and isolate a part.

One thing that could help is to send a link of a part from within an iModel. But this will require to load the iModel to get the link of the element. And iModel is not the primary front end for most users.


And since we do not render evey CAD model because it will mean running the iModel full time 24/24 and will require to have each CAD document geolocate to have the model locate in a viewable location.
