New grid view: UI enhancement for filtering dropdowns

In the new grid view, for dropdowns it is possible to select from the list of possible dropdown options, select several options and filter down the list.

However, the UI is designed a little user unfriendly.

When opening the dropdown, the 'Filter' and 'Clear' buttons are hidden under the dropdown (see screenshot 1). The user first has to click somwhere to close the dropdown list again in order to be able to filter.

If the buttons where placed above the opening dropdown this extra click could be avoided. This would be a major UI enhancement (see screenshot 2)
